HOW IT'S MADE

The Ombre Mountain Floating Shelf is crafted using reclaimed industrial shipping pallets, typically pine wood.  We responsibly source each pallet to ensure they're safe to use (heat or pressure-treated, never chemical), and break it down with the strength of a thousand Samsons.

The wooden pallet slats are then de-nailed, cut to size, and lightly sanded... just enough to remove the dirt and splinters, but retain the nail holes, gouges, and saw marks that give each shelf tons of character.  This also ensures that each piece is truly one-of-a-kind.  

Once constructed, the shelf is stained, and then sealed with a durable polyurethane finish that makes it resistant to stains and watermarks.  Staining gives the wood a gorgeous rich look while maintaining the rustic appearance.   A walnut stain is shown here, with ombré application on the peaks to provide snow-capped accents.  Not your thing?  No worries mate, just select the option for No Staining. 

Finally, stylish black keyhole mounting plates are pre-installed.  These plates are recessed to a precise depth, allowing for easy, flush wall mounting.
